What we do
- New sprinkler system design & install
- Drip irrigation for beds and new plantings
- Spring start-ups and head adjustments
- Broken head, valve and line repairs
- Controller programming
- Fall winterization (compressor blowout)
Designed in zones
A good system waters lawn and beds differently, and sun and shade differently. We split the property into zones so each area gets what it needs: rotors for open lawn, spray heads for tight areas, and drip lines for shrubs and flower beds. Matching the heads in each zone keeps coverage even, so you don't get brown corners and soggy spots.
Watering smart on Long Island
Long Island's sandy soil drains quickly, and summer demand puts real strain on the water supply. If you're on Suffolk County Water Authority water, irrigation runs on an odd/even schedule (odd-numbered addresses on odd days, even on even days) and not between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. We program your controller to follow those rules, water early in the morning in shorter cycles the soil can absorb, and we can add a rain sensor so the system skips a cycle after a storm.
What sprinkler systems cost
| Service | Typical Long Island range |
|---|---|
| New system, about 4 zones | $1,800-$2,800 |
| Skilled irrigation labor | $85-$175 / hour |
Typical Long Island market ranges, not a Green Horizon quote. Every property is priced individually. See the 2026 cost guide. Larger lots need more zones; we quote by the actual layout.

Start-ups and winterization
Every spring we turn the water back on, check each zone, fix and adjust heads, and program the controller. Every fall, before the first hard freeze, we blow the lines out with a compressor so water left in the pipes doesn't freeze and crack them. Skipping winterization is the most common reason for spring repair bills.
Where we do sprinkler systems
We provide sprinkler systems across Suffolk County and parts of Nassau, including:
